TAFE Area Competitive Event Information

Competitive Event Sign-Ups

Will be posted to your Area Pages when they are ready, which will be about 2 weeks before your conference.

These sign-ups will only be open from Monday at 9am until Friday 11:59 p.m. of the same week.

No pre-scoring happens at the area level, only at state and national levels.
To submit breakout session proposals, please use the submit button located next to the event guidelines. This needs to be done by October 31st.
Last day for changes to competitive events is October 31st. After this, changes are closed until the day of your conference.

Changes that can be made are dropping a student from an event or subbing a student in on a dual/team event.
You cannot substitute in on an individual events.

Statement of Originalities must be submitted prior to your conference.
All Children's Literature Statement of Originalities (found in the guidelines) must be presented WITH THE BOOK.
Reminder, all projects should be saved or backed up onto a USB drive in case internet is down or unavailable at your area conference.

The Texas Association of Future Educators or TAFE (pronounced "taffy") is a co-curricular statewide non-profit (501 c3) student organization created to allow young men and women an opportunity to explore the teaching profession. The organization was created in 1984 to provide the best and brightest high school and middle school students in Texas with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions about pursuing careers in education.

TAFE is sponsored by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals and is governed by a board of directors comprised of teachers, students and principals.
