TAFE Collegiate Chapters

Steps to beginning a collegiate level chapter of the Texas Association of Future Educators:

Step 1: Secure approval required university personnel. Gaining the support is vital in having a successful chapter.

Step 2: Fill out New Campus Membership Form and contact the TAFE office for further information or questions you might have.

Step 3: Reach out to Clinton Gill with TSTA/NEA the Aspiring Educators to begin the national affiliation process.

Step 4: All members must be members of Aspiring Educators to compete and participate in TAFE events.

Step 5: Recruit! Establishing a core group of students to serve as an officer team early will provide a solid foundation for your chapter.

Step 6: Pay state dues ($95 Chapter Due). Pay national dues (individual student dues) Dues must be paid prior to participating in your area conference.

Step 7: Chapter members plan a tentative calendar of activities.

Step 8: Chapter members prepare a budget. You will need to plan ahead to determine how much money your chapter will need for programing and how you will go about earning that money.

Step 9: Begin preparing for competitive events. Reach out to your area coordinator for details such as the date, location, and cost of the area conference, if you are attending.
